KOSIT Hair Designs opened on Peckham High Street in 1989. We work with every type of hair, and Afro hair has been our expertise from the very first day.
That expertise is the reason clients stay. Textured hair behaves differently at every stage: how it shrinks, how it holds moisture, where it breaks, how it takes colour. Knowing those differences by instinct takes years, and Applekosit has spent more than thirty-five of them doing exactly this.

Applekosit has been working with Afro hair for over 35 years — the whole of KOSIT’s history on Peckham High Street, and a good deal of time before it.
That length of practice changes what a stylist can see. Hair that looks healthy but is about to break. A style that will sit beautifully for a week and then pull. The difference between dryness and damage, which need opposite treatments. None of it is guesswork after this long.
It also changes how the work is done. Clients are told what their hair actually needs, in plain terms, and the decision stays theirs.
