About weaves & extensions
Fitting is the part that matters. The braid pattern or foundation underneath is planned around your density and the weight being added, so the pull is spread rather than loaded onto a few points. Where your own hair cannot safely carry the weight you have in mind, we will say so and suggest an alternative.
Just as important is what happens underneath while the style is in. Your scalp still needs cleansing, your own hair still needs moisture, and there is a point — determined by your growth, not the calendar — at which the style must come out.
Removal is a service in its own right and should never be rushed or done dry at home. Most of the breakage we see from extensions happens at take-down, not during wear.

Good to know
- Keep the scalp clean. Product and sweat build up underneath and cause more problems than the weight does.
- Do not extend the wear time to get more out of the style — new growth changes the tension at the root.
- Come back for removal rather than taking it down dry at home.

Will a weave damage my own hair?
It should not. Damage comes from too much weight, tension in the wrong places, neglected scalp care underneath, leaving it in too long, or rough removal — all of which are avoidable.
Do you remove extensions fitted elsewhere?
Yes. Removal is a service in its own right and we would always rather take it out properly than have you struggle at home.
How long can I keep it in?
That depends on your growth rate and the style. We will give you a window at fitting and tell you what to look for as it approaches.
