About keratin & texture release
Both treatments change how your hair behaves day to day. Keratin smooths the hair and calms frizz, so it dries faster and holds a style for longer. A texture release goes further, loosening your natural curl pattern so the hair is easier to comb, blow-dry and manage, while keeping its movement and body.
They are chemical services, and they are only as good as the condition of the hair they go on. Relaxer, colour, henna and previous treatments all change what is safe to do, so we look at your hair’s history and strength before anything is applied, and strand test first wherever there is doubt about how it will respond.
Depending on the treatment, the result either fades gradually over the following months or stays on the treated hair until it grows out. We will be clear which applies before you book, and what the regrowth and aftercare will involve.

What is the difference between keratin and texture release?
Keratin smooths the hair and reduces frizz while keeping most of your natural pattern. A texture release loosens the curl pattern itself, making the hair easier to manage. We will recommend whichever suits your hair and what you want from it.
How long does it last?
It depends on the treatment, your hair and your aftercare. Keratin smoothing fades gradually with washing; a texture release stays on the treated hair until it grows out, so the new growth will need attention. We will give you a realistic timescale at consultation.
Can I have it if my hair is relaxed or coloured?
Often, but not always. Previous chemical work changes what your hair can safely take, so tell us everything that has been done to it. Sometimes the right answer is a treatment first, or waiting.
Will it straighten my hair completely?
That is not what these treatments are for. They smooth and soften, and a texture release loosens the curl. If you want fully straight hair, we will talk through the options honestly at consultation.
